Vicuña

Vicuna

Module 1

Origin

From Peru's Andes, vicuña is shaped by altitude and temperature shifts—warmth that feels weightless.

At around 12.5-13 microns, it is known as the "fiber of the gods": a hand-feel so fine it almost disappears, leaving only warmth and line.

Its rarity is structural—typically gathered through once-a-year gentle combing, not mass shearing—making scale impossible by nature.

Module 2

Standard

At SELVANE, the Vicuña-blend standard is not just about "fine"—it is about letting "light" also serve the silhouette with stability.

Vicuña Content

Clearly disclosed percentage

Fiber Fineness

12.5-13 microns (luxury-grade range)

Structural Balance

Australian superfine wool for stability; Vicuña for hand-feel

Density Control

Prevents collapse so the line stays clear

Module 3

Process

Finished with restraint: gentle processing to preserve fiber length, calibrated density for stability, and shaping that keeps the silhouette composed—warmth felt, not seen.

Respect the fiber: low-temperature pre-spinning and finishing to protect fiber length and fineness expression.

Keep the line: steam setting plus structured cutting, so "light" can still have clear boundaries.

Finish quietly: hand-feel calibrated to be close to the body but not sticky, leaving only clean lines when walking.
